Blocks and Steering Column
Can someone explaiin how lowering blocks work and can anyone advise on if I was going to switch to a more modern steering column which is the best application.
Thanks, Bryan

On the coil spring rears, the block goes between the rear housing and the trailing arm.The u-bolt passes thru it holding it in place.

Still don't understand
Can you explain in a little more detail about the housing and where the blocks go. Where can I get some decent blocks, Local AutoZone?
Sorry I'm just an idiot about some things, Bryan

What year is your truck? If 60-72,and have coil springs, the rear end sits on top of the trailing arms. You remove the u-bolt that goes around the housing and thru the trailing arm.All the venders on the board will have a block kit that comes with a 1" or 2" block and u-bolt.Place between the rear and arm. This moves the rear closer to the body.I think the kits are around $90. Also I think you can use a van steering colum early seventies to mid eighties.
