leaf spring vs coil spring

How rare or few Chevy 1/2 ton two wheel drive truck came with leaf springs vs coil spring. I know that GMC mostly came with leaf springs dont know about Chevy.Thanks

I'm not sure about the numbers but I have '71 swb chevy 1/2 ton 2wd that has leaf springs. That was one of the 5 or 6 options that it has.

My old 72 had leaf springs. A friend of mine swore it it was not original until I showed him the SPID.

I had a 72 Chevy back around the early 90's that had leaf.When i got it one of the spring tie-bolts was broken and it kinda rode sideways.

My 71 has factory leafs. Still have the sticker in the glove box.

I have only seen two Chevys with leaf springs. A 70 1/2 and a 71 3/4. I have personally never seen a GMC with coils.

My '72 Cheyenne 20 has leafs. The option is listed on the SPID.

1972 Cheyenne Super 20 2WD, DK Blue/White, 90K ACT. miles, 402, TH400, 4.10 open, tilt, tach, vacuum, A/C, AM/FM, manual throttle.. A mostly original paint never rusted Texas survivor...

2017 Sierra 1500 SLT 4WD, Black, 45k miles, 5.3, 6L80E, 3.42 LS, 20" polished wheels, everything but moonroof and 6.2...

2019 Canyon SLT 4WD, White, 62k miles, 3.6, 8L45, 3.23 LS, 18" wheels

Here in Canada most (95%) of both chevy and GMC 1/2's have coils and about 80% of the 3/4's were leafs.
