Yeah 3000# darn fingers! And is 4500# a good estimate of what the truck weighs by it self without any people or stuff in it?

If the rear end, springs, shocks, tranny, bushings, frame/xmembers, brakes, etc are all in good shape. BTW, I think it means you can haul 3000 lbs, or tow something that has a tongue weight of 3000 lbs (that's A LOT). You should be able to tow a significant weight, depending on the trailer style, the rear end ratio you've got, engine, tranny, and where you're going.

Re: Reality Check

I thought you should be able to tow more than that given that you see 3/4 tons towing fifth wheel campers all the time and I know they aint light.

Re: Reality Check

Well, so much for that truck. The owner wants 2000 for it and the tranny definitely needs to be rebuilt. I don't think it is worth that much, at least not to me. So the search continues!

Re: Reality Check

Im new here but can agree on waiting for the right time, my wife has wanted a 67-72 c10 swb fleet since she was alittle girl, and we have come across some trucks but they just were not the right ones then we came across one that was a decent driver with minimal rust for 1,300.00 now for cali thats a hell of a deal, but its about waiting until the time is right, im more then positive that you will come across a great deal, it may not look like what you want at first but remember that a true car/truck guy can see what it will look like, not what it looks like.
