I always thought it would be awesome to ride in a flying brick though. Maybe I can one of these days lol.

Re: Bonneville?
There have been several trucks in the BBORR (Big Bend Open Road Race) in Texas. A couple of years ago there was an early '60s Chevy PU and this year it appears an '86 Ford F250! in the "street rod" class. I'd like to put a '60s body on my '94 9C1 chassis and running gear and give it a whirl!

Re: Bonneville?
I think that it has something to do with the fact that it is more challenging to make a truck go fast. The reasons for this we already know (weight, shape, etc.)

Re: Bonneville?
joes66 - 9C1 is the designation for the Chevrolet Police car setup. In my case it's a '94 Caprice, LT1, 4wdb, HD suspension and not very expensive, but runs pretty swift!

Re: Bonneville?
oooo so its the same chassis Chad Reynolds has under "Trusty Rusty" his 56' chevy wagon...
what do you think the weight differences are between that chassis and the stock 1/2ton pickup one?

Re: Bonneville?
I am sure chad could not have been the first to pull that off, but he is definately the one to have made it famous, that little nomad is dead on reliable and you don't have to be afraid to beat on it.

Re: Bonneville?
yea he is the first person that comes to mind when i think 9C1 chassis swap but your right, i surely doubt hes even close to being the pioneer of it... that wagon can put on a spark show
