WIW Double hump heads

No history on these, removed from a '70 parts blazer, casting# 3917291 & 3890462, does $300 pr sound fair? Too heavy to ship, but could deliver to spring Carlisle PA swap meet.

Re: WIW Double hump heads

I don't think Blazers ever had double hump, 2.02 heads did they? I thought they were only on Corvettes, Camaros, Chevelles? $250-$300 sounds about right for the original folks.

Re: WIW Double hump heads

I found a 327 with the double humps in a 69 pickup that i bought. As far as I can tell the motor and power glide tranny was original.

This was definitely not the original blazer engine, just installed in it.
More pics.

Cool Re: WIW Double hump heads

The one has a date code of B227 which is Feb. 22, 1967 also someone has gone though these orig. these heads came with press in rocker studs yours are screw in w/ push rod guides and the springs aren't stock either I bet they've been ported as well I have a stock set of 462's and the machine work alone runs $500 most people now days are going with vortec's but if someone were restoring a camaro or corvette and wanted to keep the numbers they would be worth quite a bit that's mho

Look at the casting on the end of the head. There are a couple good pics of it.

they did come with screw in studes if they were factory equipped with guideplates. I have some 461's with factory screw in studs and guideplates, and my 291's from my 302 have factory guideplates as well.

Re: WIW Double hump heads

this is a mismatched set of heads,ie both heads should be 461 or 291 to be a matched set and should have very close casting dates.461 with 1.94 and 1.5 valves came on 275 and 300 hp 327 and some 67-69 350 .some came with 202 and 1.6 valves 3/8s studs and guide plates on 325 ,350,360 and 370hp engines 461x are corvette 370hp and have larger volume runners 291 also came in several combinations all 67 and 68 302 z28s had 291 with the lager valves and studs and guide plates 69 and 70 z28s carry 186 casting #s
