Got all the leaves out of the yard for mulch for the gardens. About 18 loads in my longbed.

Re: What did you get done? 02/08

Drywall in the daughter's bedroom. Yech. Broke out part of the crack in my basement preparing for the urtethane foam and mortar. Pikced up an 89 Blazer GMC grill from CLfor $50 with NO broken tabs! Started the roof sheathing on my new 9x14 parts shed (I know it's not big enough but the old one fell in....). TOnight, more sheathing followed by more drywall. Then it should be ready for paint.

Re: What did you get done? 02/08

dropped off and picked up my cab from body shop. had the drip rail removed and welded up. also had the guy do the finish work with some body filler to make it nice and smooth. I wanted to do this myself, but I didn't want to screw up on the roof of the cab. that is just a little too advanced for me. It's a subtle difference but when you see it next to another truck that subltle difference is a lot. and you dont ever have to worry about the seam sealer in the drip rail rotting out and rusting up the cab. I also picked up my frame from the powder coater. I'm not sure what color I am spraying the truck so I just had the frame coated gloss black. I have had my truck in pieces for about a year now and I am just now starting to make some forward progress. I have been finishing up my shop and now that the frame is done and I have some body work done to the cab, I am committed and can't wait to get the rest of my suspension done so I can start putting some of this stuff back together. Next is finishing off the suspension and replacing my rockers.

Built a 2" valved reflux still, got some parts for a second, and picked up some of the processing equipment I will need to turn weeds and spoiled fruits/vegetables into fuel for my daily driver, trucks, and drag car. The 454 is going to be swilling straight ethanol this summer after a cam change, an intake swap, and rebuilding the Qjet. With luck the 76 will pull the drag car to the track again after a ten year hiatus from the racing scene. The luck is needed to get the drag car updated for the lower ET it runs now. I doubt anyone here would be interested in ten cent to a dollar per gallon fuel, so I wont bore you with the details.

Re: What did you get done? 02/08

Spent Saturday working on the house, laid granite tile around the fireplace. Now I have to grout it and the tile for the back splash in the kitchen. Trying to finish up my honey do list so that I can work on my truck...And I got to watch ALL of the Bud Shoot Out that night....

Sunday, took my boys to the race track. We race go karts on a 1/5 mile dirt oval. First race back after a nearly 2 year layoff. New class for both boys. the older on raced this time, came in 2nd in the feature after not doing well in both heat races (mostly my fault, I had the kart to tight, work not turn in the corners, Got it right on for the Feature ) We are just trying to get seat time before the season starts in March. In two weeks, last race date before the points season, hope to get my younger boy in the kart and get a race under his belt...

Son of a .......!!! That is an awesome yet simple solution! Thank you for mentioning that, I should've thought of that before now though.

Re: What did you get done? 02/08

well i got out of work a 1pm on saturday and called my mechanic. he told me my truck still was not done despite him saying it would be done friday, the day before. after a few hours i just drove down to the shop and saw my truck on the lift with tranny fluid gushing out around the tranny pan. they ordered a new gasket and after 1.5hrs the parts guy drove up, delivered the gasket and left. the mechanic pulled the gasket out and it did not work. he hopped in his car and came back 30mins. later with the proper gasket. installed that and then worked about 45 mins. getting the shift bracket on the steering colum hooked to the gear change linkage. finally hours later at 6:20pm I left the shop $620 poorer with the following done to my truck. new tranny installed(i provided tranny), new tranny gasket and fluid, oil change, exhaust welding, one new muffler, new kick down control, and new flywheel. i was a little mad when i first pulled out of the parking lot and could not step on the gas because the old tranny was floating around in the bed and i did not bring rope or tiedowns to secure the thing. at least now my truck will moved under its own power, now.

Re: What did you get done? 02/08

I picked up my Trailblazer Friday night from a long week without it. I was having some warranty work done to it. I spent early Saturday morning working on a few cars. Later that afternoon my family and I worked in our yard cleaning up leaves and clearing out some trees. Sunday afternoon was much of the same. I took my daughter out for a ride on the atv later that afternoon. Enjoyed the 70 degree weather.

Thanks 8t5Silverado !

I got the car and truck all cleaned up today. Hauling leaves is the one time I cuss the trim on the truck. it holds everything! took forever to get it all out.

Got a pic of the bowtie! There is a red SUV parked in front of it and it looks like overspray!
