Another drop shackle question
hey everyone i tried to search but couldnt find an answer. I have an 84 swb with 4" dropped leafs in rear. I just got a new set of 2" dropped shackles to get my desired 6" drop in rear. My question is, does the bed have to be absolutely removed in order to trim the bed crossmember? I do not want to do this and i would rather leave the bed on, is this possible? Also will i need lowered shocks as well? Can the leaf springs be removed in order to cut the bed, or? Thanks for looking- Shaun

Re: Another drop shackle question
You can unbolt it and slide it back far enough to cut out the section...I did that on my truck years ago. However, it is easier to take it off...it will allow you to make better cuts and clean them up easier.

Re: Another drop shackle question
I would say take the bed off and do it right. Right now im in mock up on my truck and im taking my bed on and off. Me and my uncle dont have much of a problem taking it on and off. It helps a lot when its that low. and when we have three people around its real easy. Just try to find a couple guys and you should be good.
