New Here and to Chevy...
Hi everyone. I am new to this site and also to Chevy and Chevy trucks. Ive been a Mopar guy my whole life but recently I crashed my srt8. My dad has a 1967 Chevy truck, I think its a k-10? Its 4x4 for sure. He says he selling it to me for what he paid, $1500. Anyhow, Id like some advice as we plan to restore it. It runs great, but he paints vehicles and is letting me pick the color. Recently I found the paintcodes for that year: http://www.classictruckshop.com/phot....php/photo/108
Im having a hard time picking a color. Would appreciate any tips. Also if anyone has a similar truck id like to hear about it and how they run overall. Are these fun trucks and how much off roading will I be able to do. Appreciate any info. Regards, Rob Los Alamitos, CA |

Welcome to the board & to chevy, Its hard to go wrong with GM. The color is all in personal preference, You should look at a bunch of these trucks and see what turns you on. Does your truck have a 327? these are definately fun trucks Enjoy it.

Re: New Here and to Chevy...
Hey,welcome from Maryland!!!
These are the greatest trucks ever made. The parts support is second to none. But,they sure hold up and mostly needs parts to look new again,as in restoration.Other than that you can run them on a shoestring budget.Check out the sight and absorb. You will find the`67s have a earlier version of the 4wdrivetrain and parts can be more scarce.`67s had the old ram-type power steering, too. All the newer stuff bolts right up with minimal effort, are not expensive, and plentiful. These trucks are the transition from old to new with a`72 having many upgrades not offered on`67s.The changes are suttle and ,again, very interchangeable. Also, parts like axles and steering from trucks into the`90s can be swapped. They ain`t no Edsel. You can keep`em running easier than about anything.Yeah,I like`em.

Re: New Here and to Chevy...
Welcome from Nebraska. I have driven old and sometimes rusty Chevy"s all my life and have more luck with the old ones than newer ones. My 97 truck has cost me 3 times more money than my 69 blazer. I really like the 67-68's.
