Original ride height for a 69 GMC 1500 LWB ???
Does anyone know the original ride height for a 69 GMC LWB 1500? The springs where previously heated with a torch and I am looking to replace with lowered springs. I like the height that it is at now, but I do not know what drop coils to get 1.5", 2", or 3". I guess you would measure from the ground to the center of the wheel well??? Thanks

Re: Original ride height for a 69 GMC 1500 LWB ???
Welcome to the board. It varies by tire size of course, but with 28" tires the height is supposed to be 32" in the front, and 34" in the rear. My red '69 was actually 32.5" in front, and 35.5" in the rear with 245/60 R15's on the front and 275/60 R15's in (26.5" front and 28" in the rear). I put McGaughy 2/4 lowering springs it now measures 28.25" in front and 29.5" in the rear. My SPID says my truck came with HD springs, so maybe that's why it sat higher. It rode stiffer with the stock springs than it does now. Anyway, here is the difference it made in stance. I think I'm going to add a small block to the rear and drop it down a tad more to level it out.
