Electric Choke Q-Jet On 67-72??
For the people that have stock electric choke Q-Jet carburetor's on your 67-72 trucks, how do you make it function? I have one installed on my 70, but dont know where to get the circuit to make it work. Anyone knows where to splice a wire or hook it from? Thanks!!

You should be able to pull from any 12V source as long as it is only hot while ignition is on. If not a fused source I would add a fusible link. I believe Holley recommends 10A fuse so you should be fine with that on Rochester also. I would NOT connect it to the coil. That could possibly cause you problems. Hope this helps.

I went to the fuse box.
tapping into the coil feed will cause driveability issues. |

I think the M&H Harness I have taps power from the starter somewhere.
All I know it looks clean! s/t

Re: Electric Choke Q-Jet On 67-72??
I don't see where there would be a wire on the starter for this... the starter has one wire that is hot all the time (bettery cable) one or two wires (depending on ignition system) that is hot when you are holding the key to start... that's it.
As indicated above, you need a key on source... ignition unfused is a perfect place. That would be a 10 amp fuse... not 10 volt. |

Re: Electric Choke Q-Jet On 67-72??
Luis, I checked my wires on my truck. I installed an Edelbrock 1406 around 9 years ago, so my memory is rusty.
Seems the red, (hot wire), goes from the choke to the positive side on my ballast resister. From there the hot wire, goes into the fuse block under the dash, to a 12 volt power source. My truck originally had a divorced choke, so I didn't have a power source, when I installed the 1406. Hope this info helps.

I used the switched hot wire that goes to the connector for the TCS relay. Most trucks have it hanging there unused anyway. Just crimp on a male spade connector and plug it in there.
