Radio Relocation

I'm feud up every time I drive my truck where my radio is :'(, I hit my knees and also I almost drive off the road when I adjust the radio, since I'm not using the a/c heater equipment, I decided to move my radio where it was, also I will be showing how I installed my gauges that I did last year
I will be using a 89-91 bezel, it going cover the mess up where the past owner installed a radio, I still need fasten the radio a make a new piece of diamond pate for the gauges and to cover up the factory radio

Re: Radio Relocation

I would have mounted it higher up then that and put the heater switch under it.

Re: Radio Relocation

The guys that did the install on my truck had talked about doing a bad ass double-DIN unit in that exact location.

Since you use a seprate set of heater controls it works out great. Now I know what it would have looked like...

When I get another truck, I'll be doing some cool stuff like that.

Re: Radio Relocation

I'm thinking about mounting mine where the center AC vent would be- I figured it would get the radio away from the steering wheel so it wouldn't be so awkward to put a CD in.

Rear disc swap & Hydroboost
Dually conversion with shackle flip-n-switch
4x4 conversion with 52" springs
Maybe some new body panels

When I HAD a radio in my 78 that's where I put it. If you are crafty it will look like it goes there from the factory.

Re: Radio Relocation

I got the idea from my buddy's truck, only we mounted gauges there on his. When we do mine, the radio is going there, and switches for the dump bed and aux lights will go in the stock radio location.

If I can't make it look good with diamond plate then I'm going to fiberglass it
