Re: What did you get done? 03/01
I pulled the seat out of my 78 and will take it to the upholstery shop this week. The stock vinyl is starting to give up. Also installed new steering wheel (grant 1178, black mahogany billet 3 spoke) Will post pics when I get it put back together in a week or so.

Re: What did you get done? 03/01
Finished the front airbag project on the Heap. Still need to finish off some cosmetic wiring issues once I make sure the switch is where I want it to be. The ride is awesome, the front end now goes from the pavement to 4WD style. No leaks so far!
I had my daughter shoot a short video, please excuse the jumpy picture, when I let the air out she jumped out of her skin. LOL. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBSMi...layer_embedded We now have snow and ice on the ground, I’ll get some still shots next weekend. Next up, the rear. EDIT! Forgot to add, Firestone bags, Viair 380C, 5 gallon tank, SMC 3/8 valves, bag plates from Suicide Doors. PTC and brass fittings purchased locally.

Re: What did you get done? 03/01
I spent time with my heat gun, my can of WD40, and a "purposely dull" (but smooth) gasket scraper.
You know those adhesive-applied "rock chip panels" that GM applies in the curved area just ahead of the rear wheel openings? I hate those things! My white truck had such discolored ones that everyone thought it was a big rust spot. Now that they're gone, it's pretty again! I found that the heat gun was required to soften the things enough to take the outer protective layer off (carefully using the gasket scraper). I then sprayed the whole area down liberally with the WD40 and let it soak for a few minutes. The gasket scraper took the rest of the stuff off down to the point where a good wiping of WD40 finished up the residual bits. Followed it up with a little polishing compound. It made a huge difference!

I'm agree! The weather lately has sucked around here. The weekends that are nice I have to work on other peoples' cars.

I bought my first 4wd, a 1990 blazer with the silverado package. I had to drive 2 hours each way but it was worth it.

bought a solid complete front clip and doors for my k30 dump and then had a awesome 1 1/2 hour ride home through the city of buffalo at night with a trailer with lights that decide not to work.

Re: What did you get done? 03/01
Going with a setup like N2 has on his black truck, air over leaf. Probably won't get to it for another couple months, have some other things that need to be at the head of the line.

Didn't do anything of value, it snowed some so I got the golf cart stuck a few times and had to drag it out with the tractor.
