Question How scarce are 68 camper specials...

I know where a 68 camper special, its in okay condition wouldn't take much to make it a halfway decent rig.( I know we all say that.) its a pretty basic truck except its a camper special the bed looks to be straight.I can probably pick it up for a good price, But I want to know if its worth having? Are they pretty hard to come by?

A camper special is nothing more than a 3/4 ton (usually) with options such as HD suspension and camper wiring plus nameplates. This era saw trucks being marketed to the RV crowd so a Camper Special is not unusual. Though not part of the Camper Special package, these trucks were sometimes outfitted with more comfort options than the standard farm truck, like A/C, buckets, tilts, automatics, etc.

Because these trucks had campers in them, I've found that these will have nicer beds than a truck that was worked. So a camper special can have a lot going for it, but it's not rare or desirable in and of itself.

My brothers '68 lists it as "camper special badges" or something like that-implying the option was the emblems, not necessarily tied to anything else. It is fairly nicely optioned also-AC,PS,PB.
