What is the best way to remove weatherstrip adhesive
I really do not want to sand it down as it is to easy to get into the paint
Any chemicals out there that will soften this stuff up Tricks of the trade maybe

One is get the majority of it off by hand. Then you can get one of those rubber wheels and put it on the end of a drill.. It will suck that stuff up but leave a little bit of a mess behind. 2nd is go find some chemical called SAR. Silicone adhesive remover. THAT is the best stuff ever. |

you might try lighter fluid , that you put in cigarette lighters. It gets the gummy glue like junk off.

Permatex makes an RTV-specific silicone remover. It comes in a 4 OZ tube.

Re: What is the best way to remove weatherstrip adhesive
goo-gone works ok, but it just takes a loooong time. I am using it on the sticky stuff left on my bedrails from where the previous owner put stick on weather stripping to seal a camper shell to the truck.

Brass wire wheel in a cordless drill as they spin a little slower the corded ones. Won't damage the paint with brass either.
