Another 1966 Chevy Found me

Just got it today it’s in a lot better shape rust wise than I expected. Floors ,rockers doors are solid .Some bubbles in lower fender .Already found a rust free fleet side bed ,350 motor to install.clean up the frame. Just going to clean it up & just drive it for now ...

Re: Another 1996 Chevy Found me

Welcome to the world of 60-66 4x4's. Nice find. I take it does not have an engine? Do you know if it originally came with a V-8? If it didn't the right hand engine mount is different for a six cylinder. It can be moved but it is not right because it is to short. I have seen several members on this board find the correct mounts for a V-8. I hope yours is set up for that. Also hard to tell from the pics is it a small or big back window.

Nice find indeed...'66 Chevy K20. The productions numbers were around 3,000 for the '66 Chevy 3/4 ton 4x4 trucks. I like the wheels. I have a set on my '66 Chevy C20 Custom Camper. I just the twin to your truck. Hang on to it as long as you can, because they are rare, especially with a V8 and big back window.

Re: Another 1996 Chevy Found me

It has the small back window. The truck originally had a 283 it now has a running 6 in it drove it around the block IT’S a bear to steer .The motor swap & power steering will be the first things done. Also the steering column swaps what works the best functionality, more room and looks .Will be asking a lot of questions & hitting FAQ section often when I get time …..
Nice red truck you have

Re: Another 1996 Chevy Found me

Tony this was the truck from Lake city Ks .I made a deal with the guy on some boat parts & he wanted the body off it. It end up being a great deal .Well any way do we have any Chicago area members (CHIME IN) that I could contact for some work on this truck, power steering & column .motor install rather pay somebody from here that knows these trucks otherwise it will get put off until winter .Then again I have a back problem I will be getting fix later in the year I know I will not be able to do much for a couple months . Well any way love your trucks good luck in the construction business this year if you don’t build um I have no roof jobs.....thanks kevin
