Re: Project 54 short
Plinted the back side of the hood last weekend. I got the motor back from the machine shop.
I layed down 3m rocker pannel spray on the back side to reduse noise. Dont know if it will be any quiter but it looks nice in my opinion. Sanded and prmed some other things not to exciting. What im doing this weekend filling sanding blocking prining sanding. Tons of fun. |

Nice! I like that green color. What is the name of the green? What did you use for the hood latch?
Keep the pictures comin.

What color is that? It looks like a 07-09 Tahoe color.

Re: Project 54 short
thanks for that link.
Yeah I already made one, bought the tap and everything. I was going to make another, but I would rather have a chrome or billet one.

Re: Project 54 short
I have an EZ wiring 21 circuit. It was my first wire job and I like their kit. I had to call them a lot for tech support and was kinda hard to get a hold of, but when they did, they were pretty spot on.
I got an aftermarket headlight switch and ignition switch too. When my acc is on the fan will work and I believe the heater and don't know yet but I am sure the choke will too, also my radio will work with acc. I don't mind any of that.

Re: Project 54 short
You have done an excellent job on your truck. Glad to see it's a 54. You also have a great shop to work in. No where near that kind of room here in California, but at least the sun shines warm almost every day. Keep up the good work, and the pictures.

Re: Project 54 short
Gauges are Auto Meter stuffed into the original gutted housing. I milled out .125 aluminum in place of the glass. Its hard to find 6" gauges to put into the two massave holes GM had in the dash. Dakota Digital came out with their new line as soon as I completly gutted the oe gauges.

Re: Project 54 short
Box sides in primer. The start of a cutting and welding aluminum, I cut down the tool box 4" or somthing like that so it sits just below the top of the box.

Re: Project 54 short
That's a nice looking ride. I like how you did the boards in the bed to match the paint and the tool box really sets off the strips. Did you spray the same liner on the inner fenders and firewall like you did under the hood? I was thinking of doing the same on my '49.
