diskbrake swap
I want to take the brakes off my 71 chevy 8 lug and put everything on my 66 chevy 6 lug. Then put a 5 lug rotor from cpp. Can I do this? Will itjust bolt in?

Re: diskbrake swap
Nothing about that says "bolt right in" You seem to be mixing up a big mess. I think a lot of measuring is involved and a machine shop in your back pocket.

Re: diskbrake swap
I'm no expert but have been doing some research on this. From what I understand, the spindles will bolt right on but the 5 lug rotor is different. You would have to keep the 8 lugs. There is a guy on ebay that sells instructions on how to do exactly what you are wanting for $15 bucks, plus you can call him with any questions. Here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DISC-BRAKE-CONVERSION-60-62-63-64-66-67-70-Chevy-truck_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a1205Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318Q7c301Q3a1Q7c293 Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem170313827916QQitemZ170313827916QQptZMotorsQ5fCar Q5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories"
Hope this helps! |
