Does anyone use the Polyurethane? The seem pricey compared to the $16 I can set of stock onces at NAPA for. Was wondering if they are worth it?

My NAPA mount (drivers side) is history after only 3,000 miles and though I thought about spending the extra $$ on the poly type, I didn't.....wish I would of. I have quite a bit more hp than stock, So I should've known better.

Who has the best Price on these? Best I've seen is $90 for the pair.

Oh Boy I also have a little bit more power than stock. I wonder how long mine are going to last. It is one of those things that I did not think further ahead. Someone post a link to what you fellowes are looking at.

My motor is going to be around 290 HP. With that HP should I even bother with the poly's? How long do the rubber ones last? I really don't want to change them again.

Buy them, I don't have them in my truck (yet) but I do have them in my Nova, Well worth the money. Mine are from Energy Suspension.

I have always heard that the poly squeak, and that they will bounce you around like crazy because they are soo stiff. is this true?

not sure how true it is but I heard the same thing about poly.

I think that was for the cab supports. Anyone else run the poly for motor mounts?

I wouldn't think they would bounce you around being motor mounts. I would say they might stiffen things up a bit so you don't get as much side to side flex.

We bought the poly mounts when we put a 383 in the 1971. Didn't want anything breaking, BUT ........These mounts either stock of poly use a single 7/16 bolt to hold it to the frame. Dont remember on the stock mounts, but the poly mounts from Summit have threads in the 1/8 steel plate that is part of the mount. I'll bet there are only 3 or 4 threads in there to hold that bolt. The poly mounts will never break, but I'm not happy at all with the design of the "better" poly mounts. I am waiting for those threads to pull out and wreck something, won't buy any more unless they redo the design.

my truck has around 700 miles since completion and I just ran the motor for about ten minutes and it is solid no moving at all so I guess I will wait till I see them begin to tear.

I bought mine from Summit. A complete kit(motor mounts and trans mount). The poly motor and trans mounts are more durable and more resistant to oil, fuel and grease. They won't break down from chemicals and provide a stiffer mount as opposed to rubber. Will probably outlast your truck. The motor and trans mounts won't squeak because once everything is bolted down, they don't have a chance to move. Poly Cab mounts on the other hand also provide the same great benefits but also take away from the ride quality a bit. A little squeak here and there but not constant. Hope this helps.

Forgot to mention, you have to use a poly trans mount if you are going to use poly motor mounts, if not, too much flex in the tailshaft of trans and ...el cracko to the case.

I have motor, tranny, and body poly mounts in my Nova and I have no squeaking at all. The energy suspension mounts in my opinion are far superior then the factory mounts, With no flex at all. Its a very solid mount but not as harsh as a true solid mount. There great for the performance application.

Best way to see if it's broke or not is put the truck in a forward gear and give it gas while holding the brake.......if you blip the throttle back and forth, you will feel the motor slam back down if the mount is broken......usually it's the driver's side that gives up.

you may want to modify the mounts depending on the style so you can remove them without taking the motor out (usually you have to cut the bottom off so you can access the bottom motor bolt with a wrench) the mounts I bought from carquest were like that I don't know about the NAPA mounts

has anyone else done this?????
