Steering Column Change

My Uncle has a 1972 Chevy C10 and he wants to buy a replacement chrome steering column from LMC Truck Parts with tilt wheel.

Questions:

1) has anyone purchased a replacement column from LMC and how was it?
2) how difficult is the switch out. Is it fairly straight forward?

Your thoughts?

Lar

Re: Steering Column Change

Can't answer number 1 question - but the other one...

Very simple...

1. Disconnect electrical at the base of the steering column
-Turn Signal Switch and Neutral Safety Switch
2. Unbolt the column from the dash/firewall
3. Remove column connection at ragjoint and pull wheel/column into the cab

Depending on what you get with the column - it will likely just bolt in the same way using the reverse steps above (never seen the LMC column)...
