Brake interchange
Hello, I'm still using drums but have now installed the 67 Impala master cylinder thanks to this site. Heres my next problem. Working on a 63 and parts seem twice the price and much harder to find than for 64-66. I already found out why the front wheel cylinders will not interchange the later model has a larger mounting bore for the spindle attachement. But what about the brake shoes and hardware kits. I have compared the old shoes to the new over and over and can not see one difference. The hardware kits look the same as the old springs aswell. Can I use the shoes and hardware or is there really a major difference in the different years. I would also like to thank every one here - Just bought this 63 after having a 66 20 years ago and wishing I had never sold it.

Re: Brake interchange
I don't see why you couldn't use the later model shoes and hardware. You should be able to put the '66 self adjusters on there as well.
