correct 69 paint scheme

I am looking to paint my 69 K20 custom to a factory paint scheme. Can anyone tell me if the k series were a solid color, or did they have a white cab roof, or were both an option? Thanks!

Re: correct 69 paint scheme

The way i understand it is you can have the upper trim or the lower trim but not both, at least on the 71-72's with the cheyenne packages, you could have a white cab with the paint divider strip and a solid body color, with no trim at all too.

Re: correct 69 paint scheme

???? The truck two tone for 69 wouldhave been the white top. You could get both the upper and lower chrome as they were both options. The back of the cab divider is the break for the paint line as well as the upper chrome on the tailgate. Solid trucks did not get the upper tail gate chrome or the divider chrome. In 1970 there was an option for lower paint below the belt molding similar to the 68 version, but included a white top, the 68 did not. Hope this helps answer your question.

Re: correct 69 paint scheme

you could get either style of two tone ont hem. The green and white one is an all original never repainted 69 longhorn.
The second one, even though is green and green, represents the other style of 2 tone, this one shows that white was not the only secondary color. GM would do any color that they offered in the truck line up. I've seen some real ugly ones, red and yellow, black and orange, white with blue secondary (actually looked good too).
the thisr one is another all original one, with the white lower, plus cab roof
the last one is a solid color with white cab roof.
