Need advice
I need to get new hood hinges and wanted to know peoples thoughts with experience between after market and original GM fitting quality any thoughts?
cost is $80 for the pair after market and $170 for GM.

Re: Need advise
I ordered some aftermarket ones with new springs, they work perfectly.
They were made in Argentina if I remember correctly.

Re: Need advise
First I bought used ones from Manes, that was a bad idea. I then purchased the aftermarket new ones (also from Manes) and they worked out very well.

Re: Need advise
Some guys have posted on here to make sure and lubricate them real well before installing them to prevent buckling.
I'd probably lube them and then slowly lower and raise the hood a little at time until they move freely. |

Re: Need advise
How much do the springs have to do with that? My hood doesn't pop up and has to be helped open. The hinges seem fine so I'm assuming it's the springs.
