Questions for the learned ones
What bench seat fits in the front of blazer, need to seat wife and kid! Will a 88-2000 chev work? Anyone had frame powdercoated, what did it cost and do you think it was worth doing over reg paint.

Re: Questions for the learned ones
If the seat your wanting to use will fit a truck, it will fit into a blazer.
IIRC those year seats look & work well in these old trucks. As for the cost of powder coating, it all depends on cost's in your area and if prep'd correctly, paint will hold up fine. |

Re: Questions for the learned ones
The seat I used in mine is from a 98 Silverado extended cab. It's a 60/40 split bench with a fold-down center armrest/console. The advantage of the pre-99 extended cab is that they didn't have a third door, which means that both sides tilt and slide forward for access to the rear.
If you're interested, I can post pics, including how I made the mounts. |

The seat tilts and slides with one lever (the one low on the side of the seat). It slides forward about 5 or 6 inches. The ride height seems to be about an inch or two higher than stock, which I actually like better (I'm 5'10"). Let me know if there's any other info I can help you with. The color is what the factory called dark yellow. I've heard it described as ochre on the board. My hood is light yellow and the RF fender is dark green/black because I have been working on it but I haven't got it ready to paint yet. |

Do any of the pre 97's have the built in seatbelts like the newer ones do? Some of the late 96's may have had a 3rd door also. The 96's may go farward more than the 99 and up do due to the fact that they did not have the 3rd door. that might help you in you quest for seats at the junk yard.

Re: Questions for the learned ones
I'm not aware of any of the pre=97 seats with built-in seat belts. Mine were separate.

Installing seats with the shoulder harness built into the seat itself will require additional floor structure in our year trucks under the front mounts to be safe. Not a bolt in & go event. |
