And how do I know if I have one for my truck depending on what it is?

This booklet is the waranty information that was given to the original owner. The metal card looking thing in the upper left, was attached to it. (that's the actual protecto plate) On that metal card, there is the original owner's name and address, the truck's VIN, and incripted codes telling the dealer some of the specifics of the truck in question.
When ever they had problems with the vehicle, the owner would take it to the dealer, and the dealer would use this card in the old credit card machine that would make a copy onto the paper work to turn in to the waranty insurance company.

If you have a warranty booklet like this and if you have a metal plate with name, address, etc. embossed on it then you have one.
