Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks

Finally signed up as I have been lurking for quite a while. Always been fond of 88-98's but love other years as well.
My wife and I ordered our '98 stepside on the very last day you could order back in '98. For some reason GM wouldn't put a 350 in the truck due to CAFE rules. They even sent a letter to the dealer stating why, and I still have it. It's got a 305, AC, automatic, 3:42's and little else. Roll up windows and manual door locks.
We had planned to use it as an everyday vehicle hence the rain drip guards on the side windows, body side mouldings and the rear lid.
Falling in love with the truck kept us from using it everyday. It's only got 33K miles on it and has never seen salt. We have every single piece of paperwork and the original brochure. The bed doesn't have a scratch.
It's got the Hotchkis TVS system which lowers it 2/4. Cragar s/s mags, custom bent cat-back, hood pins and a chrome cup tach on the dash too for a traditional look. We kept the original wheels and springs.
My everyday driver is an '01 set up similarly. I love that one too....

Thumbs up Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks

Fu....

Stunning Stepside! The contours on the 88-98 series can't be beat.

On Labor Day 1992, I was within an 1/8" of an inch of buying a '92 Ford (Iris colored) Flareside but the deal fell through. Thank goodness!

It's cool to see someone who's fallen in love with (and taken care of) the same classic stepside lines as me.

Take care of that beauty....

Talking Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks

Thanks Chromer! The truck lives a charmed life. Never intentionally out in the rain. Heated garage etc. My wife is crazy about it too. She even calls it "hers".
No '92 Ford Flareside for you? How come? Too many vehicles? If that's the case don't feel bad. I have six!

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks

Hey JB1016............

OMG, you found my long lost brother!!!!! Thanks for sharing the ad. I have only seen one other 94 Sierra GT for sale and it was an extended cab version for $18,000 that was located in MI. This stepside isn't as clean as mine....the interior looks like it went through hell!!!But, I do like the mods the onwer did. If I do not sell mine, it will get a 383 stroker and a 6 speed. For now, I would like to sell it and pick up a 71 Chevelle SS 402 covt that I have been looking at.

Hey FU...........

The Cragars look freakin' awesome on the truck!!!!

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks

Hey SJCharney, Thanks! I've always loved Cragars. Must be my age I remember as a kid in the sixties how popular they were.
I like the look of your Sierra GT. I think you should keep it AND pick up that Chevelle.......

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks

FU........

I wish!!! You may have to talk to my boss (wife) about that. I am only allowed two "toys" at the house. I have had teh truck since new and I kinda have grown bored of it. My 06 Denali crew cab has caused this. Plus I need the $$$ from the truck sale to assist in buying the Chevelle SS convt. It will look great next to my 70 Chevelle SS in the garage.

BTW, old school does rule............I was born in the late 60's and I am an old school hot rodder. My Chevelle is old school with her few mods......cragars, headers, etc..........
