Re: Portland swap meet time again!!!!!

I will be there Friday! It's my annual chance to see people selling used stuff for about 30% more than what it costs new. It's also fun to watch people on Sunday packing up 90% of what they brought on Friday....scratching their head as to why it didn't sell.

"This Holley carb sells for $400 new....I can't believe no on wanted it for $395.99! Sure it's 23 years old but it's in great shape!!!!!" LOL

Re: Portland swap meet time again!!!!!

I havent been since the 80s. I need to go down and pick up some parts and drop something off for Brad. Im dreading trying to park and trying to find you and another vendor.

I am actually looking forward to the drive down and back though.

Re: Portland swap meet time again!!!!!

My wife and I are intending to run down on Saturday morning. I 'm not hunting anything in particular this time so the stress level should be a bit lower for me.

I'm going to have to make a list of guys space numbers and see if I can get by some of them.

Re: Portland swap meet time again!!!!!

I write this entry from a hotel in the metropolis of Ritzville WA, returning from the swap. My opinions were that the first part we went to, at the racetrack, there were alot of good deals but still didn't find much for my 71. Bought some semi rough doors but really couldn't find what I needed. That being said, if you needed some early Camaro parts or a set of aluminum slots for a car, what a selection. Never seen so many slots in my life. Next day we checked out the swap meet at the expo, and saw lots of very high prices but some great deals on complete vehicles. 70 Ranchero GT 351C for $2500, 1969 Camaro under 10K, If I only had a way to get them home. Will return next year with a car traler for sure. On a positive note, got a quite nice chev tailgate for $350 and a swb box from Pickmup (Frank) for $1500 so I am well on my way to getting my lime project going. Hope everyone had a good time, time to pack away the shorts and get back to shoveling my toys out of the friggin snowbank back home.

Re: Portland swap meet time again!!!!!

The Portland Swap Meet gets better for me every year...I stay home and take care of all the guys returning that didn't get what they wanted down there. It is like PICKMUPS mini-meet.
Thanks Dalton, nice talking to you guys and all of the other Canadians that stopped in this weekend. See you next year.

Re: Portland swap meet time again!!!!!

Have a barbeque and brew and they will come...as will all the rest of us that don't want to drive to Portland...LOL!

I was coming back to the "wet side" from Eastern WA on Hwy 12 and saw someone towing a light green 69-72 on a trailer going east. I wondered if someone had picked up a truck at the Portland meet and was going home. I very good look...was that you?
