well, for starters, you dont have a 440 small block, if its .030 over its a 406, .040 over is a 409, and .060 over is 412. what kind of heads do you have? tire size? and what kind of compression ratio? what is the general use of this truck? daily driver, weekend warrior, race truck? need more info!

what do you mean you charted your motor? and jeremy is right, to have a 440 ci from a 400 small block means you would have to use an aftermarket 4 inch stroke crank with like a .04 or .06 over bore, and it takes alot of clearencing to get a 4 inch stroke crank in there.

again, charted your motor?

440? YEAH RIGHT! Its not even close. To get a 427BB to 440cid from overboring takes .125" OVER and that motor already has .125" extra bore over the 400sb. Whatever you charted, your charted it wrong.

As for cams, we need more info on use of the vehicle and motor before we can decide.

I don't think anyone thinks you're stupid, but the guy that gave you that information needs to recheck his numbers and "rechart". As for the cam like everyone has posted before, we need more information about your setup. We can't help you much without the other specs on the motor and the setup you are running.

see I run a 515 lift Lunati, and I have a 400 sbc bored .030 over. Mine is very streetable and gives me the performance I want. But just goes to show you that your setup makes all the difference in what cam you should go with. Hope it works out for you.
