Live from Belle Rose La
I finally got me a new computer so i can talk to yall from the track .This is the first of three weeks of racing for me . We have the Houston Nats next week and then the Ennis divisional the following week . This track is great with the exception that there is always a headwind . If someone would turn the wind off the old blue truck would haul ass . I went 10.877 @ 147.50 this morning with a 15 mph headwind. Now if I can just cut a light ! I'm kinda rusty since i havent raced since october .

Re: Live from Belle Rose La
Well it wasnt a good trip ! First I got showered by rocks from the water box that resulted in a busted windshield and a paint chip on my hood . One of my buddies got a guy to come out and repair the windshield so I thought it was getting better . NOT ! Saturday I was on my way to the lanes to get a time run and I heard a funny noise . Well that noise turned out to be a roller lifter squeaking . It went from squeaking to broken in an instant . So I didnt get to race . Now instead of getting ready for the Houston nats I will be pulling the motor to inspect the damage and hopefully get to make our first divisional race in Ennis in two weeks . Jim I usually try to hold .02 becuase you have to be able to get there . You can turn an .88 into a .90 but you cant turn a .92 into a .90 ....

Re: Live from Belle Rose La
They were 904 Crowers and they had about 150 runs on them . Alot of people are getting 300 runs out of them so I was going to try to get 200 . I have had the best luck out of Crower so I'm not scared to put the same thing back in it .

Re: Live from Belle Rose La
are they the ones with high pressure pin oiling? I have heard that those and the isky red zones are the best till you get to the jesels.

Re: Live from Belle Rose La
Yes they call them Hippo's . I broke one of the Red Zone Isky's after about 20 passes but I have three or four sets of Crowers on the shelf that I never had a problem with . Anthing can break , in my opinion and from what I have heard from engine builders Crower and Isky are about the same . I would love to have some Jesels but those things are way too pricey .
Anyway on another note ! Since I was already going to be off racing I have been working on my motor . I took the block , cam , And rods & pistons to my machinist yesterday . After spending all afternoon with him we saved my cam and the rod I was worried about . Even though a friend of mine offered me his car for the Tx Motorplex divisional it looks like I will get to run the truck .

Regan
Did you make it to the divisional? I talked to David Hale this weekend, he wasn't sure if you motor was back together or not. Said he was shooting to get his back together this year...

Re: Live from Belle Rose La
Yes I got it back together . It seems to be doing ok but I'm never happy when I have to patch one up . It just needs to live for 5 more divisionals . The truck was doing good at Ennis until first round . It spun on the line and coming off the T-Stop and I couldnt run the number.....Argggg

Re: Live from Belle Rose La
It was one of the best improvements I have ever had . It picked up 2 tenths and 4 or 5 mph on my old 598 . That was changing from the big Brodix single 4 manifold and a 1250 Holley .
