1972 long bed Step Side questions

Ok, I'm looking at a 72 Chevy long bed step side. It's a 6 cyl, auto with manual brakes, front disc, rear drums with rear coil springs. The rear bumper and tail gate are home made. The bed is a wood floor. There is bondo in the doors, rockers, cab corners, lower fenders. The front pass corner has been hit, damaging the bumper, fender, grill, and surround. The truck runs and drives fine, has new brakes, and lights. Idles smoothly after 2-3, and seem to shift smooth. Tires are decent. Most of the floors, save for the side 2-3 inches is solid. Area under the bondo doesn't seem too bad.

Question is: Is it worth $600?

I would say it is worth $600 for a running and driveable truck. As with all these trucks you'll be doing repairs in nearly all the same spots on all of them

If the registration is current and it runs, and you could see yourself cruising in it, then I would say its worth it. Try to get it cheaper anyway the worst they can say is no.

I`d say yes, too. It`s kind of hard to beat a running truck for under $1,000.It`s almost cut in half with the damage.Still worth it.Take away all those flaws and yje truck wopuld be 10x that..

Re: 1972 long bed Step Side questions

ok, so it looks like I might be selling my spare car, which means there is a pretty good chance I will be getting this truck.

I priced it out, and I can use the engine, trans, harness (dash, headlight, engine) and the interior switches for my blazer, and have it cost less than buying all the parts seperate. Plus I'll have a truck to use for a while to finish up the house projects.

And it looks like the truck might be under 50k on it original, although there is no real proof to back this up.

anything that runs, anywhere in the US, is worth 6 bills.
