would our trucks be considered muscle trucks?

My truck was bought by my grandfather back in 9/73 thats what the date is on the door jam info it was the top shelf model came with everything there was out for that year that came in a truck 454 th400, 3.73 14bolt, no smog, the good 781 heads and all the nice trimming. It was the towing package with 15x10 rims. Cheyenne super custom deluxe I think thats what the badgeing said. I have owned it since 92 when he sold the cement business. I ran the stock motor till the main beaings went bad. Took that stock 454 and put it in the corner for rebuild and through in the 468 all edelbrock components motor I built. I think if it came with low suspension and bb from factory that it could be called muscle. But mine being the 74 it is not considered a classic but california says its smog exempt so I say its a classic to me but its each ones opinion on the subject.

my 454 will get my truck scotin down the road prety quick. i wouldnt exactly call it a muscle truck though. i call my truck a 320hp garage door.

Also the Muscle in the Elcaminos might ought be considered . They were classy , had big or small blocks 4 speeds and Th 400 or th 350 posi, bucket seats tachs rally packs big carbs , but not sure the Elcamino was considered a truck . Lic Plate said it was. They also were bad ass rides in their day. of the 1960s and 1970 s.

muscle Cars or Muscle Trucks would be factory-built machines.It`s absolutely true you can build anything you want into anything you want.But,we`re talkin`factory here.If you take a base `69 nova sedan and slam a monster motor along with go-fast goodies and you`ll have a "Street Machine".A`69 Nova SS396 would be a Muscle Car.

Since everyone else gave an opinion, I guess I will chime in with mine...GTO,442,SS,Charger,Torino...Notice any similarity? All were Mid-Size Sedans, With the ability to order with the most powerful engine Detroit offered. Also known as Mucle cars...put the same engine in a Camaro,Mustang became a Pony Car....put the same engine in a truck, it became a great Tow rig. Bucket seats didn't do it that was an option, four speed was not mandatory, just highly recomended....And as mentioned, if there was such thing as a Muscle truck, I would say ElCamino, or Ranchero, but frankly the term is pretty silly when you consider what it means, call it a Muscle Truck if you need to, I consider them "Classic Trucks", but what do I know?

Skirkpat,good points.But,were all muscle cars mid-sized?What would we call a 427 Impala SS,421 2+2,7-litre Galaxy,409 Biscayne,GS 455 Riviera,429 wedge Marauder,and all those?
Why is everyone ignoring the`64 Dodge that had the 426 wedge,posi,traction bars,tach...and putting the big block El Camino as first muscle truck?I`ve argued an El Camino is every bit a truck as any Japanese mini truck.But as far as the muscle what issue,it`s a car platform,not a truck.Just swap all the Chevelle stuff over and it`s an SS.Even the hood is straight off a car.I can`t see that as claiming 1st muscle truck status.
