Looking to swapping out the C20 rear end...
I am going to change out my 8 lug bolt pattern to either a 5 lug on my C20. Does anyone know if some of the newer Chevys have close to the same rear end dimensions that will work in my C20?

Re: Looking to swapping out the C20 rear end...
My 65 C20 has a 65 C10 rear end. If you do something like that you should get an adjustible panhard bar. The original one will go on but wont line up right. If I could do it again I would have gone with 6 lug.

Re: Looking to swapping out the C20 rear end...
Yep. I would have converted the front down to 6 and left the back alone.

Re: Looking to swapping out the C20 rear end...
I'm not familiar with the C20 rear ends. Could you order new axels from strange or another company? Don't Know. Another option is to got to a 8" or 9" and use the Explorer rear discs. They come with E Brake brackets and work real well.

Re: Looking to swapping out the C20 rear end...
I don't know, the truck came that way.
From what I've seen there isn't a axle kit for the C20 rear end. You can have a machine shop drill yours and just put some new drums on. Or just put a C10 rearend under her and cradle swap it. |

Re: Looking to swapping out the C20 rear end...
so the 95 or 96" caprice 10 bolt is an easy swap for the most part?
I want discs on my 10 bolt but can't seem to figure who sells the parts. |

Re: Looking to swapping out the C20 rear end...
Could always look for a mid/late 70's caddy rear end, already has discs...

Re: Looking to swapping out the C20 rear end...
I second that 8.8" idea. The late 80's mark VII's had limited slip and disk brakes. They are about 55" wide. Order some axles and your in business. The amount that people want for a chevy posi are crazy.

Re: Looking to swapping out the C20 rear end...
What year truck do you have? C10 or C20? Do you have a pic of the rear end? If you can give us some more info I may be able to help you find discs for it if they are available.

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but i'm assuming six5 prolly has the same rear... I found mine to be a dana 60... The truck is a 72' C20. has a 350 with a th350 trans.

Re: Looking to swapping out the C20 rear end...
No six5 has an Eaton HO52 in his. Let me look ad see if I can find you some caliper brackets. The rotors and calipers are the easy part.
