Don't know for positive but I saw a company that sold BBC mounts and claimed only minor firewall modification was needed. But who knows what they mean by minor....

Re: can't make up my mind

I stuffed a 454 in my 66. I found a cheap set of aftermarket towers on craigslist, bought headers from Summit for 67-72 model. Small block towers won't clear the headers on the driver's side. Also, I moved the engine forward 2 inches to clear the firewall (3 holes on the frame rails, use the forward 2 - mine has short water pump, so make sure you still have fan/radiator clearance).
I've heard another option is to use 73-87 towers and headers with the slide-through bolt in the motor mounts.
There are a bunch of guys on here with nice big blocks. It's a lot of fun to rev it and rattle the windows in the garage. Good luck!

Re: can't make up my mind

I would suggest using the '73-'87 motor mounts and headers for the same. If you want to run tall valve covers, you'll need to move the engine forward a couple of inches. It's really not difficult at all especially with an auto trans. If you wanted to run a manual trans, that would add a little difficulty to it.
