Here are my "big" cabinets, and my workbench storage cabinet; The cabinets are 34' wide and two feet deep. The bifold doors were a closeout at Home Depot. I don't particularly like bifolds, but they allow you to open the cabinet up completely with cars in the shop. Above the workbench cabinet are bookshelves. I really need some new pics...

What really has me jealous is the lift.
I'd kill to get rid of my creeper-and-jack-stand set-up.

You are very close to the ideas I'm having. Can you get me closup of hinges and specs for door ply thickness? What did you use for bench tops? It looks like frames may be 2x4's? I like the option to roll stuff under cabinet and close-up (out of sight and stays cleaner).
Also think the engine stand is cool. Can you show closeups of it with a few specs? I have seen the store bought ones but think their too spendy, I need some rookie welding projects soon. thanks.

Well here's what I have. I t hink I have some cad drawings of all of the cabinets that I made somewhere too. This stuff is all in a 22 x 22 garage and we still park a car and my cab in progress which is on a dolly in there.

Hey guys neat shops.I do have a suggestion for those of you with the dishwashers. If they work the local machinist's supply will have a water mix degreaser that should work for all but the tuffest stuff.Just put you parts in and a little degreaser and turn it on.It will save lots of scrubbing too.
Check out some of the new parts washers(automatic) that use this system. They aren't much more than big dishwashers anyway. Used cabinets are one of the easiest ways to set up a shop. For open storage I bought some shelving from a bussiness that was selling out.Too bad all my shop stuff is halfway accross the country and I don't have room for it here.

I just have the old kitchen cabinets too. They work great. Just ran a sheet of 3/4" Plywood over the top. I left a space for a bar stool and added 2x4s for support. On top of the plywood, I put a sheet of aluminum that I purchase at Boeing Surplus for $3. I had one cabinet left over so I cut the bottom kick panels off it and put it on casters the same height as the rest of the cabinets. I use it as a portable work counter for saw, cleaning parts, etc. Someday, I'm going to paint them, the walls and floor all nice an pretty - probably just before I sell the house.

Just two Camaros. The orange car is my brothers as I was keeping it for him awhile, and the red car in the foreground is my 240Z.
My cabinets are made with 3/4" CDX, basically construction grade plywood that is sanded on one side. I wish that I had relieved the plywood by making some vertical circular saw cuts in the rear since some of the doors have tweaked a little. The frame work is made out of 2x4 and uses the walls as support also. I did that in order to not have a bottom like traditional kitchen bases are built. The top is also 3/4" plywood, but I put an oak stip on the front. Future plans call for a formica countertop since this is my "clean" room and not a pounding bench! The hinges are just your basic European "hidden" style hinge. The engine dolly is just the length of a SBC minus the front end. I get wheels from www.Northerntools.com they are steel wheeled rated at 1000# each for $3.50 or so apiece. The angle iron is 1/8" Swivel casters all around would make it easier to jocky under the bench, but having straight ones in the front makes it easier to steer across the shop. I'll try and get some more pics of the dolly this weekend.
