How convert 71 GMC to 72 Chevy
Here is my new project, a 71 gmc suburban. Always wanted a burb but I already have my 72 lwb project. Stumbled across this burb and made a good deal so now I'm the new owner.
My question is how hard is it to convert this 71 GMC to a 72 chevy. Do I have to change the complete front [of my 72 chevy] and is this a bold on "change" or is there more involved?

I think you can go to a 67-68 chevy front end with out having to change the fenders. It you want the 72 chevy front end everything needs to be changed. Fenders, rad support, grill.
Too bad you are so far away otherwise I would say come over and ill swap you parts. I would love to have a GMC front end.

You would need all the headlight parts, as well as the brackets for mounting the grill to the fenders....

fenders, grille, radiator support, headlight harness, bumper, and hood (or remove GMC letters).
I'd keep the GMC if it were me unless the front is totally shot and you have no option.

If you are wanting to swap with the truck you already have it is a piece of cake. You can swap the whole front clip in one piece by just removing a few bolts and unpluging the wiring from the firewall. Get a couple of buddies to help with the lifting and it should only take a few hours. Happy swapping
