67-72 on an early 80's frame?

I have been wanting to build a 67-72 SWB for years and always wondered how hard it would be to use a later model frame. I am pretty sure the wheel base is the same? I like the thought of having disc brakes, leaf springs, & the fuel tank under the chassis. Anyone done this? I have a line on a late 70's SWB rolling frame cheap, so I wanted to see if anyone has tried this route. Thanks in advance

x2...the frame is longer in the front. But mostly, with the bed on the frame the cab & front clip need a 2" lift to line up.

Why would you want a leaf spring set up over a coil? Coil rides better and hooks up better.

Oh,and `73-up fuel tank won`t work under the chassis.
