Re: A/C evacuation and charge ?s
What i want to do is use the quick connect for charging a system, that comes in the kit from Autozone, and hook it up to the manifold and pump it down.
Suggestions please |

Re: A/C evacuation and charge ?s
do u have freon in the system right now? i would say no because any left over r-22 in that system mixxed with r-134a would wreckt he system. if your just pulling a vaccuum it shouldn;t be a problem, most shops do not charge much to remove freon from cars and trucks

Re: A/C evacuation and charge ?s
Not a problem, if anything it will just pull a vacuum faster. My neighbor is in the HVAC business and I borrow his pump all the time, but you really should pull the vacuum and charge the system thru a set of manifold gages.

Did you replace any parts other than the r-12 to 134a quick connect? The oil should at least be replaced and the filter dryer.Any good vac pump will work to evac sys.

Re: A/C evacuation and charge ?s
My system is new, NO freon.
My dad is out of the home HVAC bussines for a while now. He thinks he can do it i just dont want to trust my $1500, brand new system to him without testing some waters first. We have a manifold but the problem is that his hoses are different. They are not compatible to the pump. Last edited by ihatericeburners; 05-11-2009 at 12:59 PM. Reason: spelling |
