Old school hot rod truck
I think painting it black would have been the only thing to make it sweeter. Opinions? |

lake pipes have mufflers in them...they hook up right off the headers with a "S" pipe type deal

some of the lake pipes were hooked to the headers then mufflers and tailpipes hooked into the back of them..then you could uncap the caps you see in the pic for open exhaust

Yeah I second what mooneyes said.some used an exhaust cutout,Others had hook ups after the muffler and into the back of the lake pipe.Think I might have to put lakes on the suburban.

I had a pair of lakers on a 51 merc in the late 50s. They were welded into the drop pipe from the flathead headers. Always rewelding because of gravel roads in Wisconsin at the time. Standard lowering at the time was a pack of camels plus one inch. Loved the sparks from the flanges on hard corners. Oh to be a kid again.

Thats a sweet looking truck its pretty much the stand and look im going for i have some wheels very similar to that and same tires. I'm sorry but i cant stand it when people chop the tops like in that photoshoped pic i dont think anything more then 1 1/2 chop looks good. I think GM made a masterpiece and it really doesnt need to be screwed with too much.
