i scored a new cab and doors!

just like the title says, me and my dad took a trip to a place about and hour and a half north to pick up a rust free cab, and i ended up coming home with doors, and a new parts connection
this guy restores 60-70's cars and trucks, mostly gm and amc, and he is really into the buick skylarks but has a few nice trucks
i wasnt even able to look at all of the cars at his house because it was getting late, and some time i will make a run out to his other place that he stores cars and trucks which is about half way between my house and his
there are too many pictures of his collection, so here is a link to my photobucket showing all of the pics i took at his place
http://s183.photobucket.com/albums/x...teve%20lerews/
here are pics of the cab and doors, i also took the door pannels and stuff off the doors and cleaned them up to driver quality, he also gave me the hubcaps in one of the pictures

Re: i scored a new cab and doors!

also a little back story about the extremly dusty neglected hugger orange 71 shown in my photobucket, about 5 years ago he did a frame off resto on it, intirior is done the truck runs and drives, but he had the body on the bed done later and painted later and its a different color and he doesnt want to put it together with 2 different shades of hugger orange, so it has sat there for 5 years all the parts to finish minus the rear bumper are in the bed and the cab, its sat so long the front tires which looked like they were brand new still, have gone flat, its such a shame if only i had the money to buy it and finish it

That is an awesome deal. I found a guy who I thought would be a great parts source just of of I-40 near Gatlinburg Tenn. He talked a good deal, had tons of parts, and was friendly. I get there after a 3 hour drive only to find shoddy parts for about three times their value.

$1,000.00 for just a short fleet bed with dents all over it and a rusty tailgate. The fenders he set aside for me and promised were in great shape were so pitted from battery acid I wouldnt have put them on a farm truck.

Whats your guy asking for this blue long bed and if you know, what year is it?

I believe the color is "Sandlewood" (I may have spelled that wrong, it could be Sandalwood?)

Looks like you got a good deal to me!

Re: i scored a new cab and doors!

It also looks like you scored some nice Bucks hanging back in the tree. At first I thought they were air fresheners until I relized there was no rear view mirror for them to hang from.
