what color paint

Im gettin ready to put the trans and transfer case back in teh chevy...
Its an 86.. It was previously painted gloss black.. i was wondering what anyone thought if I should go gloss black or flat???

I personally think the best option is glossy engine and flat exterior. Would look great on a 4X4 set up such as yours! Just my 2 cents.

Don't use flat on anything. It will stain easily and won't clean well. I suggest satin black instead.

I agree with N2, no flat. I painted my last engine flat black and you could see the oil stains and whatever else gets on there. Gloss will clean up better and wont show the stains from oil grease.

exactly. make that motor/trans shine! but on second thought satin black frame not flat. I agree flat stains like no bodies business.
