Quick WIW, Need to Make Offer
Found a set of rust free 68 fenders at a house I was at the other day on a domestic disturbance. They were behind an old Oldsmobile Cutlass parked under a car port. The guy that owns them was not home, he was in the hospital. I talked to his son who called me tonight. He talked to his dad who said make an offer on them. He does not have an old truck and they are just sitting there and are going to rot away if I don't buy them. I don't want to insult him but I'm not made of money either. Seeing he does not have an old truck or anything to use the fenders on and they will rot away if they are not used what would you offer for them?
I have no pics and I know this is in the wrong forum but I need an answer pretty quick. I am going to get a better look at them tomorrow morning.

Re: Quick WIW, Need to Make Offer
I'd be inclined to say $100 a piece. $200 for both shouldn't be an insult...

Re: Quick WIW, Need to Make Offer
$50-100 depending on condition for the pair.
If they're real nice I still wouldn't go over $200 for the pair.

Re: Quick WIW, Need to Make Offer
Do you know the condition?
I`d expect to pay $100-125 each if they are dent & rust free.More,if they are real clean.Anything less is great.

Re: Quick WIW, Need to Make Offer
Its like everything else, its supply and demand. If he dosent need them, anything more than scrap value is a plus. I'd offer $25 each and expect to buy them.
Here's an example, How much would you sell a pair of, say, Ford Torino fenders for? $25each...you bet.....cause you don't need em and thats more than scrap....JMO |

Re: Quick WIW, Need to Make Offer
any price you shoot probably will be too low for him, so I would offer $25 each and take both for $50. they would be going to a good home,a nd they are rotting away right there.. I would not pay more than $100 for them...

Re: Quick WIW, Need to Make Offer
Wow, you guys are harsh! I'd say nice rust dent free fenders are about $75-100 each, but I just scored a completely rust and major dent free 68 clip for $300 so?? You are in MO so rust free may be harder to find?? I'd be inclined to offer $100-150 for the pair, but my inner me won't let me take advantage of someone?

Re: Quick WIW, Need to Make Offer
I just bought 2 rust free here in WA for $70. I felt I could not ask him to go lower than his asking price. Craigslist find.

Re: Quick WIW, Need to Make Offer
I think it they are good condition $100 is a fair offer. But you may just want to see if he will shoot you a price first and go from there. Either way sounds like you found a good deal if it all works out.
Good Luck!

Re: Quick WIW, Need to Make Offer
Never in my life have i offered more than $1 for something.
If they dont have a price in mind they they do not know what they are worth. Offer a $1, then let them throw you a price. Why waste your money. I just sold a 75 Chevy Elcamino. Some cancer in the quarters. Was listed for $1500 , i would have taken $800 Guy asked what bottom dollar was. I said, MAKE AN OFFER. He did $1300!!!!!!!!! I hesitated for a second, then said, ah Ok. LOWBALL, you might get it. If you offer more they might laugh when your gone. I did when that dude drove off giving me $500 more than i had to have. Why spend the money if you dont have to?

Re: Quick WIW, Need to Make Offer
$50.00 for the pair. That's $50.00 more than he's got with them sitting under the carport.
