Went down for a headlight adj.kit; cost me $486.

Well, actully I made the mistake of bringing the old work-truck along and I ended up getting a radiator, deluxe marker lights all 4 corners, tail and back-up lenses and bezels, new rv mirror (night+day),smooth chrome locking gas cap, battery junction box, center support for the drive shaft,"GMC" horn cap, wheel cylinder rebuild kit,and some misc.stuff, OH,and the headlight adjutment kit. $485.84
I got it all put on before noon this morning and I felt like I was putting lipstick on a pig. Hoping the neighbors even notice.

Here's some before and afters;

'Lipstick on a pig'

It is looking better! I really like that gas cap!

I woulda passed on the headlight adjuster and done it by eyeball -- and used that $$ for a gas filler grommet ....

Re: Went down for a headlight adj.kit; cost me $486.

Thanks guys. The main thing was the radiator ($259) plus $39.09 sales tax!

The mirrors are available here http://www.truckandcarshop.com/trucks60_72/t60_045.html for $30.

Now I need to get a little body work done and get to sanding it down.

Heck...just buff it out and it will look fine..."paint is highly over-rated" as someone on here once said! Truck looks great!

Re: Went down for a headlight adj.kit; cost me $486.

Sure made a difference. Was the radiator a 3 or 4 core?

Can you tell me, and or us, where you paid a 15% tax rate.
I need to steer clear of where ever the tax is that high.

Mick
$259 for the radiator, plus all the other goodies = $446.75.

Add sales tax of $39.09 (8.75%, too high in my book) for a grand total of $485.84.

Re: Went down for a headlight adj.kit; cost me $486.

I was focused on the 39 dollars for 259 dollars, not thinking about the grand total.

But yes 40 dollars in taxes is too much.
8.75 and I guess its going up. Thanks for the 'change' government.
