Help!! Seat belts for child seat
I cant take my newborn daughter for a ride in the 66 because the seat belts don't work with the base for the baby seat. The buckle is right in the middle of the base so that you cant snap in the car seat..
I need a belt that will fit the stock bench seat that the buckle will be off to one side or the other. Does anybody have any ideas or been in the same situation. I have the old school Fischer type and they just don't work.. Show pic's or let me know what model or where you bought them.. I need to order them right away!!! I cant stand not being able to take my little one for a ride..

Re: Help!! Seat belts for child seat
I used a set off a full size 68? pontiac... then I mixed and matched the sizes to get the center piece to be the shorter one

Re: Help!! Seat belts for child seat
I have thought about using a three point. But don't to mess with it.. I have left my truck at 60's trad as I can get.. The three point you just make it go down to a two point on the seat anyways.. The lap belt is actually much easier to use with the car seat base anyways.. I just want something clean and easy to use..

Re: Help!! Seat belts for child seat
JC Whitney has seat belt extenders in different lengths and colors - that may solve the problem

Re: Help!! Seat belts for child seat
not sure about your base but with ours my wife and I each have one for our dailies and a spare. Ihave been using a friends truck while my wifes car is getting detailed and I tried the belt with the base and wasn't satisfied with the result. Our model of car seat has notches in the actual seat so you can skip the base and run the belt across the seat. I was much more satisfied with that.
Another option that you may have; our bases have it's own belt that is made to hook into anchor points that are built into both our newer cars. it's basically an eyelet that the car seat tether latches onto similar to a dog's leash to it's collar. you could discreetly attach two eye bolts that I would think would work ok or a tab bolted under an existing seat bolt if you're hesitant to drill holes in your floor. I can provide pics if needed. Josh

Re: Help!! Seat belts for child seat
I too ran belts for my kids' car seats. I used rear seat belts and center front seat belts out of G-bodys and 90's FWD Gm cars....the longest ones I could find. Typically, the center front passenger belt has a long, adjustable lap belt (when the car came with a bench).
In my case I was looking for some 'red' belts, but all I could find at the time was a burgandy set. They worked out great....tied them into plates in the floor with 1/2" grade 8 bolts.
