Maroon Interior

My 69 Chev has a maroon colored interior and I have never seen this color listed in any parts catalog. Does anyone know where I can get new interior parts in this color?
Thanks

Re: Maroon Interior

My '69 has the same color. I think the '69 color is called red. The '70 version is called bright red.
I got my seat upholstery in the original red,... but I'm pretty sure the rest of the interior will be hard to find. Most have the "bright red" color from the 70 models.

That dark red is`69-only.It will have to come from another`69.Just have to look harder. But you won`t find new stuff...other than possiblily rare N.O.S.There`s alwats dye.

Re: Maroon Interior

Does dyeing really work, or will it wear after a while? Does the die penetrate into the material or just a coating on the outside like paint?

Hey Hammer500 ... Come on down to Huck's gigantic 67-72 Truck garage sale and you'll find a lot of the stuff you need. Geeee...it's only a few miles south of the border. Seriously I hope you find what your looking for...patience is the key. Food for thought...if you become a Site Supporter then you can post a WTB and surely some of the guys will have those hard to find parts. I wish you well in your search.

That comment makes me think of one of the best movie lines ever.

Now, on to the new question at hand.
I have used the spray on dye to go to black, but never any other color. The black worked great over any color part. It holds up in a daily driver for about 4 years before it starts to chip or wear off. However, the door panels got bamaged with some idiot (me) putting the tool box in the truck, or other large items that shouldn't have been in the cab.

Re: Maroon Interior

Here's my red/darkred/maroon '69 only seat.
It's new upholstery from PUI. Member Musclerodz is a dealer for PUI. Give him a shout and he can fix you up. I'm not sure if door panels or any other interior pieces can be purchased in the correct color. Dying the material may be the only answer.

Re: Maroon Interior

Like they said. I, too have an orphan color in my '67 (silver poly)
I went down and had a paint store match the color to the original door panels, but I chickened out on painting them, because I'm afraid if they look like crap I'm out the money for the new skins, and besides, the white is growing on me. I did paint the arm rests, though, and they seem to be fine, but that's a very small surface and it's hard to tell.
