power steering?

when you put power steering on a non equiped truck do you have to switch to the long style waterpump? thanks in advance....

long water pump has nothing to do with any engine driven parts.
On trucks, all 67 - 72 V-8 engines had the short pump. It chainged in 73 to a long water pump.

Get everything you need from a short water pump truck, I highly recomend getting it all from ONE single truck, and all will be fine.

thanks, i wish i would have grabed them. so i just need a double on the crank pully? ill do a searh and see what i come up with...

Not to hijack your thread but this is along the same lines. What MODs need to be done to the frame or anywhere, if any, to put power steering on a non equiped truck? Thanks.

69 - 72.... none. Remove and install.
99% of the 67's, and some '68's need a dimple put in the frame rail.

When you put power steering on one of these trucks with a short water pump you need to buy an add on pulley to go in front of your crank pulley.
