Head Gasket replacement
So I am changing out my head gasket that blew and i am trying to pull off my heads. I am on the passenger side head. I've removed the intake manifold. All the push rods and the 7 nuts holding it on the inside and i believe it's 8 nuts holding it down on the inside. What else do i need to do? I am new to this. I have read an article about it i'm sure i'm missing one or two small things preventing me from getting it off. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's on a 72 350 the engine is supercharged if that matters much

Here's a previous thread that may help you...

Re: Head Gasket replacement
Thanks i've read that thread and didn't know the exact torque sequence i was going to do something similar to that. The heads still don't want to come out taking those bolts out. Is it just a suction that i have to get past?

Re: Head Gasket replacement
Stick a pry bar down into a port or water passage and lever it off. The head gaskets get real stuck after awhile. An 18 inch bar will pop it right off.

Re: Head Gasket replacement
If you're sure you have taken all of those 17 bolts out then you may have to pry it off. I use a pry bar to loosen it up. Find a lip on the head and stick a large screwdriver and see if you can break it loose. After many years it gets stuck real good sometimes.
