What locker (or lsd) - D60 front
I know there is lots of info on this but I thought I start a new one for some "up to date" reaction.
I'm installing crossover high steer set up (yea me!) and while I have the majority of the front end unbuckled I though I might as well rebuild the D60 and install a locker or LSD in the front... Actually the front is in need or a rebuild anyway so that might be the majority of the reason I'm thinking about this.... I bought the D60 well used but real cheap, gears are okay, bearings and seals not so much. The real question is Locker or LSD? The truck will be on the road as much as it is off the road so I want to make sure I set it up right. Lets hear some feedback. Air Lockers would be really great but OUCH!!!!

Re: What locker (or lsd) - D60 front
I have a lockright in my front D60. Its cheap, easy to install and works flawlessly. And its tough, with 39.5" boggers and moab slickrocks, i havent had a problem yet

Re: What locker (or lsd) - D60 front
Wow, that looks cool and the price is right. Interesting disclaimer on the site... "not intended for use with Large tires"
So if the t-case is not engauged it does not lock OR will centrifical force lock it?... I guess I'd also like to know how it works if the hubs are locked with the t-case disengauged? Lots of times I find myself traveling this way on fire roads or dry trails with tight turns.

I would think it would unlock and let you turn easier if the hubs were locked in and in 2wd. But i dont know. I am taking my jeep out today and can try it out and let you know tonight

Thanks, tried to check out if it was engauged under power or centrifical. Haven't found anything yet.

I think they are always engaged until a wheel spins faster than the other carrier. Like when you go around a corner. Then the dog teeth unlock it. but i could be way wrong. I do know that if your powering into a corner it wont unlock
