that "bracket" is there to keep the pistons in the wheel cylinder if it didn't have the shoes and the drum on, or if the shoes wore too far down and wouldn't hold the pistons in....I believe the wheel cylinders specific to the L/F and R/F, so could you have gotten 2 left cylinders?
