Need Help, 71 cheyenne 1 owner 30600 miles

Just stopped by to look at cheyenne 1/2 ton long bed 1 owner has protecto plate says he has build sheet and possibly can dig up original purchase check. Bed is in excellent shape inside and bottom is dent free tailgate molding woodgrain tape missing, body very straight, paint is okra and white needs paint job very thin this looks to be original paint has working A/C converted to 134a auto transmission , white bench seat and door panels the beading on drivers side of seat is missing about 6", carpet not bad for original windshield small rock chip, 350 motor power steering but not power brakes this truck is 100% original down to wheel covers. crawled under no rust on original rockers cab corners cab braces this is unheard of here in southern indiana with the salt on winter roads. truck owner swore it has 30600 original miles, moldings need replaced upper and lower but no dents in vehicle to speak of I have no pics but from my description what do you guess it is worth?

Less then what he thinks and more then you would want to pay??

Seriously, hard to say without pics, but one owner well documented rust free trucks do seem to bring higher then the average run of the mill beater.

That is always the case. It is really hard to say without pictures, did the guy give you a ballpark figure what he was asking for it.

Yes He said 8,000 which I thought was Hi But then again how many 1 owner low mileage 71 trucks are out there. I still think thats about 3,000 to much.

I would agree with you somewhere around 5k for a starting point. If the original paint was still strong and good where it would buff right out I would go higher it is one of those that is hard to tell without pics.

From what you said it sounds like a $3500 truck.

Needs paint, mouldings replaced, stuff missing, needs a seatcover and carpet.

Get some pics so we can judge it more honestly.
