control arm bushings

Saturday I am going to install my disc brake kit on my 69 and i went to buy contril arm bushings and the guy at napa said I had to buy the shafts and all because the bushings were steel they wanted 51.00 a pice for the uppers ans 61.00 for the lowers is this my only option?

At one time you could get the bushings at the dealer, & they work if you dont have too much slop.......thats not usually the case tho! the shafts wear too, & as a rule, you are better off to replace the shafts also. There is no point in doing the job twice Good luck,crazyL

Lmc has the shafts for 30.00 upper or lower. I am going to buy a set.

this is why when i do my discs on my 70 i am changing the upper and lower a-arms to the 73 and up style that uses the rubber bushings. they cost me 4.99 a pc for the uppers and 6.99 a pc for the lowers,compared to 30 bucks for just one upper shaft and bushings, for the steel ones.

bushings & other parts

hey i just found the most *****in place on line that will source out more than one manufacture at the same time .
www.1carparts.net give it a try .
and by the way the singe bushings are trw part number
k6147 and the upper is k6098 they are sold individually.
the lower shaft number is 13168a and the upper is 13167a.

if everything seems under control your just not going fast enough.
