A couple of frame, shock and bushing questions

I bought this rolling chassis at this point.

Are these plates OEM? are they something that was added and if so why?

Also take a look at these bushings. They appear to go in from one side only like a newer i cannot remember the name but they are like NItrate or some kind of injected bushing on newer cars. Does everything look right assembled the way it is?

Also lower shock mounts, the uppers are on the cross member, im guessing the lowers are something I can purchase that go on the bottom of the u bolts?

Yes, those plates are factory. The rivets were probably drilled out and they were taken off to address rust issues in between the plates and the frame. I am needing to do this right now to mine. Hope this helps.

Thank you sir. Ill have to take the bolts out that are on it as they are not long enough in a couple holes and WAY to long in the one hole. I am pretty picky about correct length bolts

Re: A couple of frame, shock and bushing questions

The trailing arm bushing looks correct, they only press in from one side, with those aftermarket arms, you may have to shim it some if needed. I have attached some pics of the lower shock mounts, I have these available, as we went with ECE shock relocators.

Re: A couple of frame, shock and bushing questions

Looks like i just found the difference, the factory arms are stamped and welded in the center and not boxed

Shock relocators change the shock angle on lowered trucks 4" or lower

I will attach a pic of some OEM trailing arms they resemble an I beam. in the attached pic, you can see the shock mount on the passenger side.
